Joan married Louis Bellin on August 3, 1955 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. Joan worked at Rich's Bakery until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and visiting the casino.

    Above all, Joan was a loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time with them. Joan was an excellent cook and loved to host family dinners.

    Joan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis; children: Sandy Smith, Little Chute; Todd (Debbie), Wilmington, NC; Sheri (Dan) Huolihan, Little Chute; and Cindy (fiance Benji Biesterveld) Merson, Little Chute; grandchildren: Ben, Mark (Michelle) and Beka Smith, Scott (Amber) and Sara Bellin, Jesse (Luke) Lesselyoung, Mike (Hilarie) Huolihan, Whitney (Kurt) Van Den Heuvel, Megan and Hayley Merson; great grandchildren: Ava, Chloe, Gwen, Ariel and Gracie; sibings: Rose Seegers, Gerald (Rosie) Vande Burgt, Clayton Vande Burgt, Gloria (Merle) Verhagen, Duane (Shirley) Vande Burgt; and sister-in-law: Vera Krueger. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter Jodi; brother Virgil (Beth) Vande Burgt; 2 infant siblings; brothers-in-law Clarence Seegers and Wilmer Krueger; and sister-in-law Agnes Vande Burgt.

    Little Chute

    Age 67, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side Monday, September 29, 2003. He was born October 9, 1935, in Little Chute, son of the late Theodore and Margaret (DeBroux) Hietpas. Neil married Mary Catherine Sanders August 20, 1955, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, where he was a lifelong member. Neil belonged to the Quarter Back Club and also enjoyed playing and listening to music, golfing with George and Dick, traveling with Virg and Marion, remodeling projects, playing cards with neighbors and friends, Christmas tree hopping, and also his unofficial role as head coach of the Green Bay Packers.
    Neil is survived by his wife Mary Catherine; five children: Don (Dawn) Hietpas, Little Chute; Doug (Margo) Hietpas, Freedom; Kathy (Dave) Jansen, Little Chute; Lori (Rory) Noonan, Kaukauna; Nancy (Jerry) Crupi, Kaukauna; 17 grandchildren: Charles, Chad, Ryan, Jordan, Nick, Mike, David, Brad, Jennifer, Melissa, Stephanie, Allison, Abbey, Nicole, Samantha, Anna and Amanda; a sister: Shirley (Don) Newhouse, Freedom; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray (Betty) Sanders, Mary Ellen Sanders and Noreen Vaubel; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence; mother and father-in-law, Les and Veronica Sanders; and a brother-in-law, Tom Sanders.Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass. Jennifer O’Connell with Affordable Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. The family would like to thank Drs. Swanson, Klingbeil and Johnson, the nurses at AMC and Kathy with home hospice. Their care for Neil is greatly appreciated.

She was born May 1, 1935 in Little Chute to the late Celestine "Les" and Veronica (Reichel) Sanders. Mary Catherine married Neil Hietpas on August 20, 1955 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. He preceded her in death September 29, 2003. Mary Catherine loved to knit. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and meeting them for lunch at Landreman's where she was quite the social butterfly. When her kids were in high school, she worked as a crossing guard in Little Chute.

    Mary Catherine is survived by her children: Don, Little Chute; Doug (Margo), Freedom; Kathy (Dave) Jansen, Little Chute; Lori (Rory) Noonan, Madison; and Nancy (Alex) Schneider, Oshkosh; grandchildren: Charles, Chad, Ryan, Jordan Hietpas; Nick, Mike (Kimberly), David, Brad (Rachael) Hietpas; Jennifer (Nick) Heiting, Melissa (Kyle) Williams, Stephanie and Allison (special friend Tony Evers) Jansen; Abbey (Ben) Kuik, Nicki (Matt) Haushalter, Sam (fiance Rick Wolfe) and Anna Noonan; Amanda Crupi and Jacob Schneider; great grandchildren: Lianna, Viktor, Leyla, Avalee, Zackary, Autumn and one to arrive in November; brother and sister: Raymond (Betty) Sanders and Noreen Vaubel; and sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen Sanders and Shirley (Don) Newhouse. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Catherine was preceded in death by her son-in-law Jerry Crupi; brothers Donald and Tom Sanders; father and mother-in-law: Ted and Margaret Hietpas; and brother-in-law Clarence Hietpas.

    Ted Hietpas, 1201 Garfield Avenue, Little Chute, age 89, died Saturday, September 2, 1995 at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. He was born April 28, 1906 in the Town of Vandenbroek and had been a Little Chute residend most of his life. He was a millwright foreman at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company for many years before his retirement in 1968.

    He is survived by a daughter and son in-law; Shirley and Don Newhouse, Freedom; a son and daughter in-law; Neil and Mary Catherine Hietpas, Little Chute. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, a sister in-law, Gertrude Hietpas, and a brother in-law, Ralph DeBroux, both of Kaukauna.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; a son, Clarence; three brothers and four sisters. The mass fo Resurrection will be held at 6 p.m Wednesday September 6, 1995 at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen and Ted's son in-law, Deacon Don Newhouse officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the church from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute is assisting the family.

    Adrian Hietpas Dies At Vandenbroek Home
    Adrian Hietpas, 65, Town of Vandenbroek, died suddenly Wednesday evening at his home.

    Survivors are his widow, four daughters, Mrs. John Wynboom, Preble; Mrs. Leonard De Coster, and Mrs. Raphael Diedrich, Little Chute; Dora, Town of Vandenbroek, two sons, John and Theodore, Vandenbroek.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. John Church with the Rev. John J. Sprangers in charge. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.
