    Biesterveld, Joseph E. "Joe" Joseph E. Biesterveld, age 46, of Kaukauna, died February 4, 2006, as a result of a snowmobile accident. Joe was born January 13, 1960, son of Joseph and Gladys (Van Linn) Biesterveld. He married Theresa Seif on January 14, 1989, in Appleton. Many will remember Joe for his coaching of Kaukauna Raiders, as well as his love of snowmobiling and golfing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1033 and St. Aloysius Church, Kaukauna, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. Joe's first love in life was his family who include his wife Theresa; his daughter, Alicia (special friend Jeff Kosmosky); his sons, Tyler (special friend Maddie Masuca), Josey and Judd; and his special furry friend Coacoa. He is also survived by his father, Joseph, Little Chute; brothers and sisters: Dan "Boomer" (Mary), Kaukauna; Nancy Vander Zanden (special friend Mike Anholzer), Kimberly; Leon (Carolyn), Little Chute; Benjie (Kim), Little Chute; Sherrie (Ken) Hoelzel, Kaukauna; Cindy (Pete) Baehman, Oshkosh; Todd (special friend Lisa Kaufman), Little Chute; brothers and sisters-in-law: Dan and Sue Jansen; Kenn and Maria Seif; Pat and Fran Brux; Jim and Yvonne Seif. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his mother Gladys; a brother, Mike; and his father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Helen Seif.     Age 48, 'God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be found so he put his arms around him and whispered, come with me'. God took Cy to Heaven at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 1989, after a nine month illness with Myleo Fibrosis. He was born June 17, 1941, in Freedom. He was employed by the Thilmany Paper Pulp Company for 30 years. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1959. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Thilmany Quarter Century Club. He had served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

    Survivors include, his wife, Louise [Laedtke] VanDerHorst; two sons, Greg VanDeHorst, Central Wisconsin Center, Madison; Derek VanDerHorst, Kaukauna; a brother, Rev. John VanDerHorst, St. Peter and Paul Parish, Green Bay; two sisters, Rosemary and Ted Verkuilen, Little Chute; Helen and Melvin Seif, Kaukauna; his mother and father in-law, Carl and Virginia Laedtke, Waupaca; three brothers in-law, Stephen and Barbara Laedtke, Waupaca; Joseph and Ellie Seif, Appleton; Jerome 'Bud' and Dorothy Nettekoven, Kaukauna; a sister in-law, Carla and Glenn Webster, Stillwater, Minnesota; numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ann Verhagen; Joan Seif; Wilma Arnoldussen Nettekoven; and Theresa VanDerHorst. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 7, 1989, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with the Rev. John VanDerHorst officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, from 4 until 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the services. There will be a prayer service on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. A memorial fund is being established for the Mayo Foundation.

    He was born in Kaukauna on September 23, 1967, the son of Louise and the late Cyril Van Der Horst. He was a resident at Central Wisconsin Center, Madison, for the past 17 years. Survivors include his mother, Louise, a brother, Derek, Kaukauna grandmother, Virginia Laedtke, Waupaca aunts and uncles: Carla and Glenn Webster, Prescott, Wisconsin Stephen and Barbara Laedtke, Waupaca Reverend John Van Der Horst, Green Bay Rosemary and Ted Verkuillen, Little Chute Melvin Seif, Kaukauna and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Cyril his godmother, Helen Seif, paternal grandparents, George and Helen Van Der Horst, maternal grandfather, Carl Laedtke, and several other aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with Reverend Jack Mullarky officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church, from 12 noon Saturday, until the time of service. The family is being assisted by Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute. Greg's family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Central Wisconsin Center for the excellent care that he received.     Age 67, died Monday afternoon after a brief illness. He was born April 15, 1908 in Kaukauna. He was a World War II Veteran and had farmed in Freedom area until 1960. He also worked as custodian at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna until 1970. Mr. Ebben was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Kaukauna American Legion Post No. 41.

    He is survived by a brother, Aloysius; a sister, Mrs. Mary Petermichel, both of Kaukauna; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

    The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with the Rev. Roy Crain officiating. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday. There will be an American Legion Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

    Aloysius W. Ebben, Rt. 4, Harwood Rd., Kaukauna, age 70, died Monday evening after a brief illness. He was born August 25, 1910 in the Town of Freedom. He worked and farmed in Freedom until about 1960. From 1960 to 1970 he and his brother, Ray, were custodians at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. For the past five years he had made his home with James and Frances Otte.

    Survivors besides his niece, Frances, are two sisters in-law; Mrs. Alegunda Ebben, Kaukauna; and Mrs. Irene Ebben, Joliet, Illinois; other nieces and nephews.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with the Rev. Mike Hoffman officiating. Interment will be in ST. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 Wednesday evening.

    John L. Vandenberg, 46, 109 E Tobacnoir street, died unexpectedly of heart disease at 2 o'clock this morning at his home.
    Born in the town of Freedom, he had lived in Kaukauna since his marriage in 1931. He was employed for 18 years by the Andrews Oil company. Mr. Vandenberg was a member of the American Legion.
    Survivors are the widow; one daughter, Lois; one son, Lyle; the mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Vandenberg, Freedom; seven brothers, Joseph and Vincent, Appleton; Theodore, Elmer, Freedom; Gordon, Great Lakes naval station; Sergeant Merle Vanenberg, Pueblo, Calif; Aloysius, Little Chute; eight sisters, Mrs. Jack Hooyman, Kaukauna; Mrs. L. C. Meyers, Port Edwards; Mrs. Otto Verstegen, Mrs. Frank De Bruin, Mrs. martin Van Asten, Little Chute; Mrs. Paul Pairon, Mrs. Peter Demunck, Kimberly; Mrs. Jasper Liebergen, Freedom.
    Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at the residence and at 9:30 at Holy Cross church, Kaukauna. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings at the residence.

    Delphine was born in Little Chute on June 3, 1911, the daughter of the late Theodore and Ella (Hartjes) DeGroot. She was a graduate of St. John High School, Little Chute, and Green Bay Business College.

    She was employed at O'Connell Insurance Agency, Kaukauna and was seasonally employed later at Kaukauna Club Cheese Company and Stokely Van Camp Company. Before her retirement, she was employed in the food service program at Kaukauna High School. Following her retirement, she did volunteer work for St. Paul Home and Holy Cross School.

    Delphine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and took great pride in her family. She was an excellent homemaker, and especially enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her for the many homemade treats and Hershey candy bars. Card playing, bingo, and crossword puzzles were among her many interests.

    A longtime and faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna, she was a member of the Altar Society, the Christian Mothers, and the Queen of Peace Choir.

    On October 27, 1931, she married John L. Vandenberg. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1942. On June 19, 1950, Delphine married Richard P. Dercks. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1983.

    She is survived by two daughters: Lois (nee Vandenberg) Miller of Kaukauna and Lisa (nee Dercks) and her husband Rick Kositzke of Hortonville; a son: Lyle (Kay) Vandenberg of Kaukauna; seventeen grandchildren: Tom Miller, Teri Miller, Tim (Cheri) Miller, Tamra Miller, Tracie (Tom) Zuleger, Tanya Miller, Ted Miller, Tyler Miller, Kyle (Michael) Brush, Brian (Jamie) Vandenberg, Jill (Jon) Jest, Amy (Jeff) Pricco, Sara Vandenberg, Nick Kositzke, Eric Kositzke, Greg Kositzke, and Charlie Kositzke; twelve great-grandchildren: Melissa Miller, Kurt, Kathryn, and Kyle Zuleger, Devlin, Kellen, and Tristen Brush, Cody, Mykel, and Tyler Vandenberg, and Gianna and Evan Pricco; two sisters: Belle Tulloch of Kaukauna and Barbara (Eugene) Regenfuss of California; a brother-in-law: Merle (Jayne) Vandenberg of Kimberly; and by four sisters-in-law: Helen Haupt of Appleton, Grace Dercks of Kimberly, Ceil (Alois) Vandenberg of Little Chute, and Ceil (Gordon) Vandenberg of Little Chute, and many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two brothers and a sister-in-law: Joe DeGroot and Jack and Mildred DeGroot, a son-in-law: Glen Miller; an infant grandson: Toby Miller; a sister-in-law and four brothers-in-law: Margaret and Martin Wildenberg, John Dercks, John Tulloch, and Henry Haupt. Dimps was also preceded in death by many beloved Vandenberg in-laws and by numerous nieces and nephews.

    The funeral liturgy for Dimps will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2001 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the hour of the liturgy.

    Dear Mom – Our family has been blessed with the dearest mom of all. You’re loved much more than you could ever know. We’re grateful for your love and guidance, the many sacrifices made for us, and sharing your deep, strong faith. We will treasure the precious memories of you forever. You were a super Mom. You did it all!

    Our mother, of great beauty, strength and grace, has passed from this life, into eternal life. She is joined with our Creator, now and forever in His loving care.

    Lois Helen Miller (nee Vandenberg), age 79, of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, died Thursday, June 28 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Lois was born on December 16, 1932, in Little Chute, WI, the first child of the late John and Delphine (De Groot) Vandenberg. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Kaukauna High School with the Class of 1951. She was united in holy matrimony to Glen C. Miller Jr. on June 13, 1953, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The couple lived in Chicago, IL, before moving back to Kaukauna where they raised their family. Lois and Glen celebrated 45 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 17, 1998.

    Lois was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Cross Parish. She had a deep faith in God and cherished the holy sacraments she received from the Catholic Church: Baptism, Communion, Penance, Confirmation, Marriage, and, recently, Anointing of the Sick.

    Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her eight children and four grandchildren. She took great pride in tending to her home and garden and was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed 20 years of employment as a dental receptionist and assistant for Dr. Gregory Russo.

    Lois is survived by her eight children: Tom Miller of Stockholm, Sweden; Teri (Richard) Hillgenberg of Long Beach, California; Tim (Cheri) Miller of Freedom; Tamra Miller of Appleton; Tracie (Tom) Zuleger of Appleton; Tanya Miller of Plymouth, Minnesota; Ted Miller of St. Paul, Minnesota; and Tyler (Veronica) Miller of Bloomington, Minnesota; by her four dear grandchildren: Melissa Miller of Stockholm, Sweden; Kurt Zuleger of Appleton; Kathryn Zuleger of New Orleans; and Kyle Zuleger of Madison. Lois is also survived by a brother: Lyle (Kay nee Killian) Vandenberg of Kaukauna; a sister: Lisa Kositzke of Hortonville and her fiancé Tom Pawlowski; and a brother-in-law: Robert (Sylvia) Miller of Iron River. Her Godchildren include: Lisa Kositzke, Jill Vandenberg Jest, Charlie Kositzke, Besty Schulenberg, and Rick Regenfuss. Lois is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Glen, Lois was preceded in death by an infant son, Toby; stepfather Richard P. Dercks; in-laws Glen Sr. and Ruth (Winge) Miller; sister-in-law: Patricia Miller; brother-in-law: Rick Kositzke, and nephew: Wade Miller.



    The funeral Mass for Lois will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, WI, with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating.
