    Joseph A. Hietpas

    Age 70, 324 Vandenbroek St., Little Chute, died at home at 9:30 Tuesday evening after an 8 month illness. He was born October 8, 1882, at Little Chute and lived there all his life. He was recording secretary of Vandenbroek Court 450. Catholic Order of Froesters for 30 years and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute.

    Survivors include the widow; two sons, the Rev. Raymond Hietpas, Birhamwood, and Robert, Little Chute; one brother, John, Little Chute; one sister, Mrs. Dinah Sol, route 3, Kaukauna, and three grandchildren.

    Friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute. The rosary will be recited at 8:15 tonight and Thursday night. A solemn requiem high mass will be conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with Rev Raymond Hietpas, son of the deceased as celebrant. The deacon will be the Rev. Norbert VandeLoo; sub deacon, the Rev. Alfred Hietpas. Goodman, a nephew of the deceased; and master of ceremonies, the Rev. Paul Van Norman. Burial will be in the parish Cemetery.

    Mrs. John H. (Mary Weyenberg) Hietpas 63, who died Wednesday after a short illness. The members of the Womens Catholic Order of Foresters and the St. Elizabeth Society of St. John's Church, of which the decease was a member,attended the funeral in a body.

    The survivors are the widower, four sons, Albert, Frank and Joseph, Little Chute, and Sylvester, Combined Locks; five daughters,Mrs. Theo.     Mrs. Theodore (Ann Hietpas) Van Den Heuvel, 327 N. Pine St. Kimberly, age 67, passed away at 2:15 AM Friday after a four month illness. She was born August 11, 1896 in Little Chute. Mrs. Van Den Heuvel was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of Kimberly; a chartered member of the St. Elizabeth Society; Lady Foresters; American Legion Auxiliary, Little Chute, 3rd Order of St. Francis.

    Mrs. Theo Huiting (Sophia Hietpas) 1113 Washington St., Little Chute, age 90, passed away January 16, 1993, at Appleton Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born September 2, 1902, in Little Chute. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Weyenberg) Hietpas. She married Ted Huiting November 22, 1922, in Little Chute. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute, the St. Elizabeth Society, St. John Mission Club and the Little Chute and Vandenbroek Golden Agers.

    She is survived by two daughters and sons in-law; Germaine and Harold Schumacher, Little Chute; Marianne and Verl Parker, Darboy; two sons and daughter in-law; Paul Huiting, Palm Springs, California; Ted and Muriel Huiting, Little Chute; three sisters and a sister inlaw, a brother and a brother in-law; Susan Kamps, Combined Locks; Gen Lamers, Little Chute, Della and Ervin Haessley, Little Chute; Joe Hietpas, Little Chute; Angela Hietpas, Shawano; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 1930; a sister, Ann Vanden Heuvel; and three brothers, Albert, Frank and Sylvester.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m Monday. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 until 9 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.

    Frank Hietpas 121 N. Beach Rd. Shawano, Wisconsin

    Age 71, died in Tuesday in Florida. He was July 17, 1908 in Little Chute. He married the former Angela Van Dyke of Kaukauna January 15, 1946. He served in the Army in World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 258, Little Chute, and was a member of the D.A.V. of Shawano. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, Cecil, Wisconsin.

    He was survived by his wife, Angie; a son, John and his wife, Katie, Shawano; a grandson, Jason; four sisters, Mrs. Sophie Huiting, Mrs. Barney [Genevieve] Lamers, Mrs. Ervin [Della] Haessly, all of Little Chute; Mrs. Susan Kamps, Combined Locks; two brothers, Sylvester, Kimberly; Joseph, Little Chute.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Hietpas, a brother, Albert; and a sister, Ann Vanden Heuvel. The funeral will be Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic, Shawano. Friends may call Friday evening at Born Funeral Home, Shawano.

    Sylvester Hietpas, 221 S. Washington St. Kimberly, age 76 beloved, grandfather, great grandfather, died Monday, May 19, 1986, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a short illness. He was born January 2, 1910, in Little Chute. He lived in Kimberly most of his life and was employed by the Hietpas Dairy Farm for 45 years. He was also employed by Lamers Dairy for 6 years, and he also worked for the Holy Name Parish. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, and the Kimberly Golden Agers.

    Survivors include four daughters and four sons in-law, Darlene and James Haber, Mary Jo and Tim Paltzer, all from Kimberly, Grace and James Hartjes, Little Chute, and Brenda and Pierre Grienier, Appleton; two sons and two daughters in-law, Duane and Mary, and Alan and Pam Hietpas, all of Kimberly; a brother Joe Hietpas, Little Chute; four sisters and a brother in-law, Sophie Huiting, Gen Lamers, Del and Erb Haessley, all of Little Chute, and Sue Kamps, Combined Locks; 24 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella (Kamps) Hietpas, on April 6, 1982; two brothers, Albert and Frank Hietpas; and a sister, Ann Vanden Heuvel.

    The funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church, Eau Claire, with burial in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday at the Golden Funeral Home, Eau Claire, from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday noon until the of services. A public prayer vigil will be at 7:45 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

    Franciscan Care Center, formerly of 1005 Washington St. Little Chute, age 82 died at 11:15 A M Monday, November 14, 1994 after an extended illness. She was born January 4, 1912 in Little Chute, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Weyenberg) Hietpas. She was married to Barney Lamers on August 24, 1932. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the St. Elizabeth Society.

    Survivors include a daughter, Laverne and Ronald Miller, Kaukauna, a brother, Joe Hietpas, Little Chute; two sisters, Susan Kamps, Combined Locks, and Dellia and Ervin Haessly, Little Chute; two sons in-law; Nick Kraft, Appleton; Floyd Klister, Wrightstown; three brothers in-law; Albert Hietpas, Frank Hietpas and Sylvester and Rosella Hietpas; two sisters in-law; Angela Hietpas, Shawano, and Marie Lamers, Appleton; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, two special friends: Germaine Shumacher and Marianne Parker.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney in 1981; two daughters: Mary Kraft in 1986; and Virginia " Jeanne" in 1991; a brother in-law, Ted Kamps; two sisters and brothers in-law; Ann and Ted Vanden Heuvel, Sophia and Ted Huiting.     Mrs. Ervin Haessly Della Hietpas 1150 Washington, St. Little Chute

    Age 83, born January 4, 1914 and died December 23, 1997 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, Wisconsin after a short illness. She was born in Little Chute to John and Mary [Weyenberg] Hietpas. She married Ervin Haessly on June 27, 1945 st Elcho, Wisconsin by Fr. Edward Haessely at Holy Family Church. Della was happily married to Ervin for 52 years. She was a homemaker who was also a caregiver to numerous families for many years. Della cared for many newborn babies and their mothers as well as giving her help and support to other family members whenever the need arose. During World War II Della worked at Essential Products Co., who were manufacturing products for the military.

    Della is survived by a brother; Joseph, Little Chute. She is further survived by four sisters in-law; Lorraine, Grace, and Evelyn Haessley all of Kaukauna; and Clara Vanden Heuvel, Kimberly; and many special nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin October 9, 1997; her parents, three brothers and sisters in-law; Albert, Frank, and Angie, Sylvester and Rosella; four sisters and brothers in-law; Ann and Ted Vanden Heuvel, Sophia and Ted Huiting, Susan and Henry Kamps, Gen and Barney Lamers. She preceded in death by sisters and brother in-law; Mildred and Walter Rodowski, Herbert and Marie Haessly, Leo, Rev. Edward Haessly and Bernard Haessly.

    The Mass Resurrection will be held on Friday, December 26, 1997 at 4:30 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Little Chute, with Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service. The Verkuilen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

    Hietpas, Joseph J

    Joseph Hietpas, 93, formerly of Little Chute, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at St. Paul Villa where he resided the past 2 years. He was born September 5, 1915, in Little Chute, son of John and Mary (Weyenberg) Hietpas. Joe attended St. John Grade and High Schools and then went on to one year of business college. He was employed at Kimberly Clark Corp. for 38 years. Joe enjoyed and was active in amateur plays and musicals during the 1930's, 40's & 50's. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II having served aboard the cruiser U. S. Birmingham which was a part of Admiral Halsey's 3rd fleet in the Pacific Ocean. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. During the 1950's Joe sang for weddings for a number of years. He also sang with the barbershoppers and with St. John's adult choir for many years. He sang for funerals for more than 25 years. Joe was a member and past commander of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258, Little Chute since World War II. Many of these years in the Legion he was a part of the firing squad for military funerals. He enjoyed golfing for more than 40 years and was a member of Fox Valley Golf Course. He was a director of the Bank of Little Chute for 22 years and was on the board of directors for St. John Cemetery Association for many years. He planted many trees in the cemetery over the years and took pride in keeping the roads and trees in good condition. For many years he kept records of military veterans as they passed away making sure they were added to the list to receive an American flag on their grave each Memorial Day.

    Joe is survived by many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Albert, Frank and Angie; Sylvester and Rosella; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Ann and Ted VandenHeuvel, Sophia and Ted Huiting, Susan and Henry Kamps, Genevieve and Barney Lamers, and Della and Ervin Haessly.

    The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute with Fr. James Hablewitz officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. Monday until the time of the mass. Military honors will be performed by members of Jacob Coppus American Legion Post #258 following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Joseph's name.

    The family wishes to express a special thank you to St. Paul Villa and St. Paul Hospice Services and Staff along with Dr. Brian Scott for their loving care and compassion for Joe.

    Age 92, died Tuesday January 6,1987 at Parkside Care Center Little Chute. He was born August 25, 1894 in the Town of Grand Chute. He served in the army during World War 1. He farmed in the Town of Vanden Broek for 30 years after being employed at the Kimberly Clark Corp. for 17 years and retired in 1973 and then moved to Kimberly. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly; the Jacob Coppus Post #258 of the American Legion, Little Chute, the Golden Agers, Kimberly, the Catholic Order of Forsters, and a member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis.

    Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph H. Vanden Heuvel, 57, were at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloyius Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Fuller officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.

    Mrs. Vanden Heuvel, the former Lucille A. Arnoldussen, died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, March 28, 1982, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, following an extended illness.

    Pall Bearers were Eldor Leick, Emmett and Gordon Wierschke, Joe Van Vondering, William Schmitz, and Ray Otto. The Greenwood Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

  • Note: Joe Vanden Heuvel, age 90, passed away in a Darboy assisted living facility on Sunday, November 23, 2008. Joe was born in the town of Vandenbroek on May 6, 1918, son of the late Theodore and Ann (Hietpas) Vanden Heuvel. In 1941, Joe married the former Lucille Arnoldussen; she preceded him in death in 1982. Joe served his country as a member of the United States Army, and worked for many years at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna and retired in 1980. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, and will always be remembered as a good card player. He was also a member of the Little Chute American Legion Post #258 and was a longtime member and volunteer of St. Vincent de Paul in Kaukauna

    Joe is survived by three children: Jack (Shirley) Van Den Heuvel of Appleton; Jerry (Sharon) Vanden Heuvel of Appleton; and Sue (Bob) Kneepkens of Neenah; five grandchildren: Tammy Van Den Heuvel, Kenneth Van Den Heuvel, Jim (Tamara) Vanden Heuvel, Joy (Matt) Lockery, and Kimberly Kneepkens; a great-granddaughter: Lauren Vanden Heuvel; two step great-granddaughters: Nikki Lockery and Brittany Lockery; and a sister: Blanche (Henry) Van Dera of Kaukauna. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lucille in 1982, brothers Maurice and Jim Vanden Heuvel, a sister Grace Vanden Heuvel, and an infant brother-in-law.

    The funeral liturgy for Joe will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Al's Site) 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Military honors will follow the mass. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.

She had resided with her daughter Ellen & son in-law Claude who cared for her for several years and were at her side when God took her home. Blanche was born August 6, 1920, and grew up in Appleton. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Hietpas) Van Den Heuvel. Blanche married Henry Van Dera on June 7, 1945 and they made their home in Kimberly. In 1954, they moved to the farm where she had grown up and farmed until 1970. In July 1978, they moved to Kaukauna to enjoy their retirement. Blanche and her husband enjoyed the summer months in Kaukauna and winter months in California. Blanche was a member of St. Aloysius Parish. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her favorite retirement pastimes were cooking, baking, and enjoying her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

    Blanche will be deeply missed by her children: Joseph (Beverly Avchin) Van Dera, Mill Valley, CA, Roger (Sharon) Van Dera, Kaukauna, Ellen (Claude) Davis, Hayward, CA, Grace (Joe) Quinlan, Oak Lawn, IL, Denis (Debbie Ferrari) Van Dera, Sunol, CA, Timothy Van Dera, Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Shari-Jo, Jessica, William, Leah, Amy, Ashley, and Sarah; five great-grandchildren: Phillip, Megan, Jasmine, Sophia, and Alyssa; sisters in-law: Loretta Nackers, Jean Van Dera, Kaukauna, and June Van Dera, Appleton; a brother in-law Peter Van Dera, Freedom; and many nieces and nephews.

    Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Henry A. Van Dera, her siblings: Joseph, James, Morris, and Grace Van Den Heuvel; sisters-in-law: Lucille and Theresa Van Den Heuvel, Elaine Van Dera; and brothers-in-law: Theodore and Robert Van Dera, and Victor Nackers.

    Maurice VandenHeuvel, 17, Little Chute, died at 7:30 last evening after a brief illness. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
