    Feavel, Josephine Johanna

Josephine Johanna, who was an energetic and dynamic person, has passed on to her eternal rest after a brief illness. She loved life to it’s fullest. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they dearly loved her. We will miss her, but rejoice that she is now with God. Josephine was the last of the Jacob and Nellie West - Ebben children to survive. She was prepared to join her brothers and sisters in Heaven. She was born on March 8, 1911 to Jacob Ebben and Petronella (West) Ebben. Josephine married Ledgard Thomas Feavel on July 6, 1937 in Fairview, Wisconsin. Ledgard preceded Josephine in death on February 10, 1997 in Palm Springs, California.

Josephine was a loving mother of five children: Rochelle (Gerald) Altenhofen, Richard Feavel, Thomas (Margaret) Feavel, Douglas (Barbara) Feavel and Robert Feavel. Josephine was a proud grandmother of 11: Randy Altenhofen, Ann Krause, Amy Wendt, Kate Feavel, Jeff Feavel, Tina Godin, Steve Feavel, Christopher Feavel, Jenny Feavel, Jon Feavel and Nicole Brown. 13 great-grandchildren also survive her. She will be deeply missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Josephine was a long time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Appleton. She was involved in Christian Mothers Society, Ladies of St. Mary, and she assisted in numerous luncheons and rummage sales.

The funeral mass will be 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 S. State Street, with Father John Holly officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Freedom.

Hi! My name is Anne Altenhofen-Krause. My mother is Rochelle Feavel Altenhofen and my Grandmother is Josephine Johannah Ebben Feavel. I see that you are researching the West Family. If you would like to update your record, Josephine passed away on July 18, 2002. She suffered a massive stroke that left her paralyzed on her left side. At the age of 91, she had lead a wonderful and active life. I will miss her so much.
Thank you for your work on genealogy. It is so important to learn about family heritage.
