    Mrs. Jacob Ebben, 80, 1508 E. Wisconsin Ave., died at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a long illness. She was born June 20, 1875 in Little Chute.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Therese Catholic Church with burial in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freedom. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this evening at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna.

    Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Joseph Steffens and Mrs. Jerome Heindel, both of Kaukauna, Mrs. Lawrence Steffems, Mrs. Harold Sacks and Mrs. Ledgard Feavel, all of Appleton, and Mrs. George Scheibe, Freedom; three sons, Nick, Peter and Joseph, all of Appleton; two brothers, Peter West, Kaukauna, and John West, Two Rivers, Quebec, Canada; 63 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren.

    Jacob Ebben, 73, 602 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna, died at his home at 3:30 yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Born August 17, 1867, in the Town of Kaukauna, he lived in Kaukauna and the vicinity all his life until he moved to Appleton in 1930. He returned to Kaukauna in 1939. Mr. Ebben was a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Cross Church, Kaukauna, and the Third Order of St. Francis, St. Joseph's Church Appleton.

    Survivors are the widow; six daughters, Mrs. Joseph Steffen, Mrs. Jerome Heindel, Kaukauna; Mrs. Lawrence Steffen, Mrs. Harold Sachs, Mrs. Ledgaud Feavel, Appleton; Mrs. George Scheibe, Freedom; four sons, Joseph, Kaukauna; Peter and Nick, Kaukauna; John W., Freedom; two brothers, Martin, Appleton; Peter, Freedom; two sisters, Mrs. Henry West, Appleton; Mrs. Peter Schouten, Milwaukee; 48 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna with burial in the parish cemetery. The cortege will form at 8:30 at Greenwood Funeral Chapel, where the body may be viewed after 7 o'clock tonight. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 o'clock tonight, Saturday and Sunday night.

    Mrs. Minnie Steffens of 125 West Tenth street, Kaukauna, died Monday following a brief illness. She was 81 years of age.
    Born July 30, 1892 in Freedom, Mrs. Steffens lived in Kaukauna most of her life except for 10 years when she cooked for the Christian Brothers of Appleton. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Dominic, the Holy Cross Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
    Survivors include four daughters, Sister Mary Leonore, Little Chute; Mrs. George (Florence) Bodde; Mrs. Harold (Genevieve) Frederickson, both of Kaukauna; and Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Corby, Green Bay; seven sons, Vincent, rout 2, Hilbert; Peter, Richard, George and William, all of Kaukauna; nick, Elgin, Ill; Melvin, Appleton; one brother, Joe Ebben, Appleton; five sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Dora) Steffens; Mrs. Harold (Mary) Sachs, Mrs. Josephine Feavel, all of Appleton; Mrs George (Rose) Scheibe, route 2, Kaukauna; Mrs. Jerome (Agnes) Heindel, Kaukauna; Mrs. Jerome (Agnes) Heindel, kaukauna; 49 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.     A concelebrated mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic church with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral home after 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) where there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.

    Joseph Steffen

    Age 63, 423 Draper St., Kaukauna, died at home at 9:30 this morning agter a long illness. He was born August 30, 1889 in Black Creek. He lived in Kaukauna since 1919. We has a machinist helper for 25 years for the Chicago and North Western Railway. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna and the Holy Name Society of the church.

    Survivors include the widon, mother, Mrs. Mathilda Steffen, Appleton; five daughters, Sister M. Lenore, Milwaukee, Sister m. Jane Frances, Racine, Mrs. George Bodde, Kaukauna, and Lorraine and Genevieve, both at home; eight sons, Vincent, Peter, Richard, George, William and Melvin all of Kaukauna; Francis of Wrightstown and Nicholas of Marywood, Illinois; five brothers, Henry, Leo and Lawrence, all of Appleton; Fred of Mackville, and Paul of Black Creek; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Dresang, Brillion; and 17 grandchildren.

    Friends may call after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, the rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday and Monday evening. The cortege will form at 9 o'clock at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna by the Rev. Andrew Quella, pastor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Sister Mary Lenore Steffens O. P.
    (Mathilda)

    Age 83, passed away at St.. Mary's Medical Center on December 24, 1996. Sister had been a teacher in schools in Racine at Sacred Heart, Holy Name and St. Rose in Wisconsin at Burlington, Kenosha, Kimberly, Little Chute, Merrill, Milwaukee, Pewaukee, Plain, Roxbury, South Milwaukee and Wausaukee, and in Michigan at Center Line. Sister Lenore's ministies also included tutoring adults, being an active member of the Senior Companion Program, teaching Special Education for the hanicapped and mentally disabled. For her participation in the latter area, she received in 1983 a special award presented by the Lincoln County Association for Retarded Citizens located in Merrill, Wisconsin. Upon her retirement in 1983, she continued her CCD ministry in Pewaukee, and in 1989 she took up residency at Siena Center. In August 1996, Sister celebrated her 64 th anniversary as a Racine Dominican.

    Sister Lenore is survived by three sisters, Florence (George) Bodde and Genevieve (Harold) Frederickson, both of Kaukauna, and Lorraine (Robert) Corby of Green Bay; five brothers, Richard (Michaeline) and William (Margaret), both of Kaukauna; Vincent of Hilbert; George (Virginia) of Sturgeon Bay and Melvin (Beverly) of Appleton; nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Minnie Steffens, one sister and four brothers. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, December 28, in Siena Center Chapel with Fr. Marty Pable, OFMCap presiding. Visitation will be at Siena on Friday from 5 PM until 8 Pm and on Saturday from 9 AM until time for the liturgy. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, state 23. Memorials to Racine Dominican Ministry fund have been suggested.

    Little Chute

    Age 87, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Appleton Medical Center, following a short illness. He was born November 14, 1914, at Five Corners, son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Ebben) Steffens. Vince was employed and retired from Thilmany Pulp and Paper in 1972. He was member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Vince was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1033. On September 10, 1938, Vince married the former Lucy Van Domelen, she preceded him in death on April 13, 1993. he later married the former Leona Woods she survives and resides at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. Vince is further survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Lee Steffens, Kaukauna Gary (Berne) Steffens, Little Chute Marc (LeeAnn) Steffens, Brookfield four daughters and two sons-in-law: Marlene (James) Kilsdonk, Darboy Sharon Huss Bonnie (Robert) Driessen and Linda Waters, all of Kaukauna 13 grandchildren: Thomas and Karen Kilsdonk, Paula Nackers, Lisa Van Schyndel, Shelly Hokenstad, Todd and Craig Driessen, Aaron Steffens, Amy Weyenberg, Robbi and Bobbi Jo Waters, Reed and Paige Steffens, and 10 great-grandchildren. Vince is further survived by three brothers and six sisters-in-law: George (Gina) Steffens William (Margaret) Steffens Melvin (Beverly) Steffens, Jean Steffens, Nancy Steffens-Shimek, Michaeline Steffens three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Florence (George) Bodde, Genevieve (Harold) Frederickson, and Lorraine Corby. Vince is preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy, two sisters Sr. Jane Frances Steffens, Sr. Leonare Steffens, two brothers-in-law: Robert Corby and Lloyd Shimek, four brothers and a sister-in-law: Richard, Francis, Peter(Dorothy), and Nicholas Steffens. Funeral services were held Friday, May 17, 2002 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father James Lucas officiating. Burial took place in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Sherwood.     Lucy A. Steffens 'Lou' N6390 Fairy Srings Rd. Hilbert, age 76, died Tuesday, April 13, 1993 after having been in an automobile accident near Minneapolis, Kansas. She was born April 26, 1916 in Boyd, Wi. daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Hermsen) Van Domelen. She had attended school at St. John's in Little Chute. She was married on September 10, 1938 at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute to Vincent Steffens. Mrs. Steffens was a homemaker. The couple had resided in Kaukauna until Mr. Steffens retirement in 1972 at which time they moved to rural Hilbert. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Heart, Sherwood and a member of Stockbridge Senior Citizens. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Also cooking and baking.

    Survivors include her husband Vincent, four daughters and three sons in-law; Mrs. James (Marlene) Kilsdonk, Darboy; Sharon Huss, Kaukauna; Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Drissen, Kaukauna; Mrs. Gerald (Linda) Waters, Little Chute; three sons and two daughters in-law; Lee Steffens, Hilbert; Gary and Berne Steffens, Little Chute; Marc and LeeAnn Steffens, Wauwatosa; twelve grandchildren; Thomas and Karen Kilsdonk; Paula Bongean; Lisa Van Schyndel; Shelly Huss; Todd and Craig Driessen; Aaron and Amy Steffens; Robbi and Bobbie Jo Waters; Reed Steffens; two great grandchildren; Jeremy and Adam Van Schyndel; also, three sisters and a brother in-law; Rose Schuh, Kimberly; Mae Stingle, Appleton; Mrs. Joe (Molly) Silwanowicz, Menasha; three brothers and sisters in-law; George and Elaine Van Domelen, De Pere; Martin and Bernice Van Domelen, Appleton; John and Matilda Van Domelen, Little Chute.

    She was preceded in death by two sister and two brothers; Judy Witthuhn and Margaret Van Domelen; Joseph and Edward Van Domelen.

    Services are scheduled for 6 PM on Thursday, April 22, 1993 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Friends may call from 4 PM until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Lucy was a devoted wife and mother. She will be remembered for the way she daily patiently loved and cared for her family. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.

    Lee Steffens passed away at his home, of natural causes, on Sunday, March 6, 2016. He was born in Kaukauna, on January 4, 1940.

    Lee served 4 years in the United States Air Force during most of this time he was stationed in Hawaii. After his military service, Lee made his home in Hawaii and later moved back to Wisconsin to be near his family.

    His college degrees were in the counseling field and he was proud of his work, both in Hawaii and Wisconsin, counseling his clients as they secured employment.

    Working with computers brought Lee enjoyment, as did sharing good times, especially Friday Fish Fries, with his sisters.

    Lee is survived by his sisters, Marlene, Sharon, and Linda; and brothers, Gary and Marc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Lucy (Van Domelen) Steffens; and sister Bonnie.

    A family celebration of Lee's Life will take place at a later date.
