West (Chuckie) of Kaukauna, age 56 son of Ron and Donna West, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 of complication from diabetes.Gerald is survived by his wife Mary of 33 years and 3 children, Jennifer Schuh - Appleton, Christopher/Robyn and Grandchildren. Mattie and Christopher - Kaukauna, Matthew West and Fiance Sarah Currie - Kaukauna. He is further survived by a brother Russ West - Maine. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Viola Boyle. Gerald like to fish, hunt and go camping and was most happy riding his four wheeler. Gerald lived life on his own terms and was a free spirit who fought till the end. He will be missed. There will be no services. The family would like to thank the staff at AMC and ThedaCare Hospice and Cathy from Cathy's angels for all their caring and kindness through his illness.

    Age 66, died Sunday, July 21, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born on June 9, 1936, the son of the late Theodore and Blanche (Verkuilen) Kortz. On May 9, 1964 he married Jean West.

    Age 54, died Friday, September 14, 2001 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on March 1, 1947 to Hollis and Naomi (Midtbo) Pilgreen. On May 28, 1966 she married Daniel J. West.

    She is survived by her husband, Daniel ; a son, Mark and his wife, Deb West, Larsen; a daughter, Ronda and her husband, Gerald Nikolai, Hilbert; her mother, Naomi Pilgreen, Appleton; a brother, Randolph and his wife, Sue Pilgreen, Poplar Grove, Illnois; two sisters: Carolyn Woerishofer, Cudahy; Dolores "Debbie" Everson, Tigerton; and a granddaughter, Earline Danielle West, Larsen.

    Thelma was preceded in death by her father.

    The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at Christ The Rock Church, W6254 Hwy 10-114, Menasha, with Pastor Dave Vande Hey officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

    Sister Jeanne Marie, 48, of the Sisters Servant of Christ the King, died Friday night after an illness of 11 days at Queen of Angels Convent, Mt. Calvary. She was the first member of the new order to die. The order was organized eight years ago. She was born April 20, 1909, in Freedom. She lived in Appleton from 1935 ti 1951, when she entered the order.
    Funeral services will be Monday morning at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mt. Calvary with burial in the parish cemetery.
    She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Harry (Mae) Vandenberg, Appleton; and nine brothers, Hary, William and Clarence West all of Milwaukee, and Joseph, Lawrence, George, Peter, Raymond and Edward West, all of Appleton. Per newspaper clipping appearing in the Appleton Post Crescent, date unknown: Miss Della West, formerly of 1112 N. Drew Street, received the habit and entered the novitiate of the order of Sister Servants of Christ-King at Loretto convent, Moun t Calvary, Wis. this morning. She has taken the religious name of Sister Jane Marie. Miss West is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry West of Appleton. The order, which was founded only three years ago by the Rev. Aloisius J. Muench, bis hop of Fargo, N.D., does cooking and laundry work for the Capuchin seminary at Mt. Calvary and serves a home for the aged in Edgely. The order was organized to work in institutions and follows the practices and rules of the Franciscan religious or der although it is not affiliated with that order.     Miss Margaret West, 21 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry West, route 2, Town of Kaukauna, died at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Little Chute, after a three year illness. She was born in the Town of Kaukauna and attended Parochial schoo l in the town of Freedom. She was a member of the Young ladies Society and St. Therese Society of St. Nicholas Church.
    Survivors are the parents; nine brothers, Harry of Milwaukee, Joseph of Appleton, William of Dayton, Ohio, Lawrence of Neenah, Peter of Hortonville, Clarence of La Farge, and George, Raymond and Edward at home; three sisters, Mrs Anna Vandenberg , Grand Chute; Mrs. Mary Vandenberg, Freedom; and Miss Delia, at home. The body was taken from the Greenwood Funeral Chapel at Kaukauna to the home in the Town of Kaukauna, Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Church , Town of Freedom, at 9:30 Wednesday morning. The Rev. A.W. Van Dyke will be in charge and burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Age 71, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday February 11, 1984. He was born August 31, 1912 in Freedom. Mr. West had been employed by United Grocers prior to his retirement.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret Vanden Boogaard West; three daughters and sons in-law; Theresa and Gary Strasburg, Germany; Doris ans Xavier Sandoval, Menasha; Lynett and Dan Romero, Madison; five brothers; Joseph and Edward West, both of Appleton; William West, Milwaukee; Lawrence West, Neenah; George West, Oneida; and seven grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday from Holy Angels Catholic Church, Darboy, with the Rev. Mike Dory officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, from 4 until 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

    West, Margaret M. Margaret West, 87, Darboy, died unexpectedly Friday, August 24, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born April 27, 1920, in Little Chute, daughter of Henry and Mary (Van Groll) Vanden Boogard. Margaret married Raymond West June 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death February 11, 1984. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Darboy.

    Mrs. West is survived by three daughters: Theresa (Jerry) Ziegelbauer, Fond du Lac; Doris (Xavier) Sandoval and Lynette (Daniel) Romero, both of Appleton; seven grandchildren: Stephen (Joy), Matthew (Melissa) and Lucas (Jaci) Strasburg, Ivan (Shari) and Anton (Jenny) Sandoval, Michelle (Kyle) Pitzner and Pamela (Chad) Ewald; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Roseann Verboomen, Agnes (Elmer) Vandenberg and Harry (Gladys) Vanden Boogard.

    Margaret was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers-in-law: Clara (Willard) Wildenberg, Marion (Richard) Vande Voort, Theresa Vanden Boogard and Clarence Verboomen and a son-in-law, Gary Strasburg.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Darboy, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Interment will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends may call at the Verkuilen Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the mass.

    West, Ed Ed west, age 91, of Appleton, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2005. He was born on a farm in Freedom, WI on March 29, 1914 to Henry and Minni (Ebben) West. While ranching in Idaho, he married Isabel Nuxoll on October 17, 1939. They returned to Wisconsin in 1945. Ed worked at Riverside Paper and was in the home rental business. He retired in 1976 and they spent the winters in San Diego. He loved playing cards, camping, the Brewers, the Packers and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his children: Lee (Betty) West and Dena West of Appleton; Harold (Anne) West, Clifford (Karen) West and Wilma (Rick) Gates of San Diego and Roger (David) West of Hawaii. He is also survived by 15 loving grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Ann on February 14, 2005, and two infant sons, eight brothers and five sisters. His body has been donated to the University of Wisconsin to be used for prolonging the life of others. Guests will be received at 10:30 with a Memorial Mass at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 3 at St. Piux X Catholic Church with Fr. John Schuetze officiating. No flowers please.

    Ed and the former Isabel Nuxoll were united in marriage October 17, 1939, at St. Anthony Parish, Greencreek, Idaho.
    They have lived in Appleton since then and currently spend six months each year in California. Ed was employed by Riverside Paper Co. until his retirement in 1966.
    The Wests have seven children: Lee (Betty) Appleton; Dena (Gus) Zielke, Appleton; Harold (Anne), Chula Vista, Ca.; Cliff (Karen), Spring Valley, Ca.; Wilma (Rick) Gates, Spring Valley, Ca.; Betty Farmer, Houston; and Roger, Konakaila, Hawaii.   • Note: Isabel West, 92, Appleton, died peacefully at her home in San Diego, with her family by her side.

    Mom was the second of ten children born to Frank and Anna Nuxoll in Greencreek, Idaho, on Nov. 28, 1921. In 1939, she married Eddie West of Freedom, Wis., while he was working in Idaho. They moved to Appleton in 1945. Mom attended daily Mass at St Pius X. She loved to play canasta, crochet afghans, and booties, and make wire rings for children. She was well known for her fried chicken dinners, apple pies and rhubarb pies. Mom retained her incredible memory to the very end. Since 1976, she and dad spent their winters in San Diego.

    Mom is survived by Lee (Betty) West, Harold (Anne) West, Cliff (Karen) West, and Wilma (Rick) Gates, all of San Diego; Roger (David) West of Hawaii; and Dena (Scott) West of Appleton. She has 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Mom has brothers, Bart (Lorraine), Art (Betty) and Lloyd (Betty) living in Idaho, where she was known as Izzy.

    Mom is preceded in death by Eddie (1914-2005), daughter, Betty Ann (1947-2005) of Houston; and two infant sons. Also by four sisters, two brothers, Eddie's eight brothers, and five sisters and their spouses.

    As per her wishes, mom's body was donated to UCSD School of Medicine.

    Mom's favorite charity outside of the Catholic Church was Food for the Poor.org.

    A memorial Mass was held on Friday, Sept. 5, at Corpus Christi Church in Bonita, Calif.
