  • Note: Margaret P. Heindl, Freedom, age 86, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday July 29, 2010. She was born in Freedom on September 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Houven) Ebben. On April 16, 1942, she married her husband of 60 years, Raymond Heindl, who preceded her in death in July 2002.

    She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, stitchery, working puzzles and taking care of her flowers.

    Margaret was the loving mother of nine children: Marv (Kathy) and their children, Lori (Dale) Maki, Lisa (Ron) Neitzel, Julie (special friend Scott); Ronald (Dawn) and their children, Mark (Jackie), Matt (Breck); Richard (Mary Ellen) and their children, Tim (Kim), Jeff, Brian (Annie), Jason (Ashley); Mary Lou Hass; Joan Heindl; Donna (Dan) Weyenberg and their children, Sara (Todd) Hietpas, Molly (Don) Vosters and Shelly Berghuis; Dave (Margie) and their children, Christopher, Tony (Melanie), Erin (special friend Matt), Joe, Dan (special friend Christina) and David Jr.; Bill (Bonnie) and their children, Steve (Amy), Miranda (special friend John) and Melanie; Mike (Nancy) and their children, Tyler and Tanner (special friend Haley); 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Jen Ebben, Dolly Wavrunek and Sr. Janet Ebben; two brothers: Hank (Rosie) and Bill (Helen) Ebben; sister-in-law, Mary Ebben; brother-in-law, Ervin Deprez; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dennis Hass; three sisters: Matilda Vanden Bosch, Clara Roepcke and Francis Deprez; two brothers: Richard and Vincent Ebben; and brothers-in-law: Sylvester Wavrunek, Walter Roepcke and Peter Vanden Bosch.

    Marvin "Butch" Heindl, age 72, of Kaukauna, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015. Marv was born on November 26, 1942, son of the late Ray and Margaret Heindl. He married Kathy Scott on July 29, 1967. Marv graduated from Freedom High School in 1962. He was a proud Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Marv retired after 27 years from Hobart Corp. His favorite hobbies were camping, fishing and woodworking.

    Marv is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy; daughters: Lori (Dale) Maki, Lisa (Ron) Neitzel and Julie (Scott Defferding) Heindl; grandchildren: Ryan and Rachel Maki, Kaley Neitzel, Logan Heindl, Cassidy and Hayden Defferding; brothers: Ron (Bonnie), Dick (Mary Ellen), Dave (Margie), Bill (Bonnie) and Mike (Nancy); sisters: Mary Lou Hass, Joan Heindl and Donna (Dan) Weyenberg; Kathy's family: Pat (Bob) Heckel, Eileen (Dick) Steingraber and Alan (Julie) Scott.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.     Vincent J. Ebben 1118 Harrison St., Kaukauna age 84, died peacefully on Saturday February 21, 1998 at home. He was born January 22, 1914 in the Town of Kaukauna, the son of the late Henry and Mary (Huven) Ebben. Vince married Mary Heindl on April 22, 1939. He installed and serviced furnaces, air conditioners and sheet metal for Haas Hardware Co. for many years. One of his many hobbies after retirement was wood carving and helping out his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and their Queen of Peace Choir. He had the honor of building many things for Holy Cross, which are still in use. He was also a member and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1033, past president of Holy Cross Holy Name Society, Chartered Member and Treasurer of Holy Cross Home School Association, Chartered Member of St. Paul Catholic Mens Choir, Wrightstown and Chartered Member of Holy Cross Holy Name Choir.

    He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Heindl Ebben; a son and daughter in-law; Gerald and Jean Ebben, Kaukauna and their children; Brenda, Lisa and Steven Ebben; five daughters and three sons in-law; Delores 'Dee Dee' Ebben, Appleton; Lois and Dennis Wittman, Kaukauna and their children; Jeffrey and Jonathan Wittman; Carol Van Dera, Green Bay and her children; Corey (Jamie) and Heather Van Dera; Janice and Glen Winge, Freedom and their children; Nicole Buchanan, Benjamin (Michelle) Seefeldt and Amanda Winge; Mary Kay and Bill Lerche, Hilbert and their children; Jessica and Chad Lerche; four great grandchildren; Taylor and Tanner Van Dera; Dakota and Janessa Buchanan; two brothers and sisters in-law; Willard and Helen Ebben, Kaukauna; Henry and Rosie Ebben, Green Bay; five sisters and four brothers in-law; Mathilda and Peter Vanden Bosch, Kaukauna; Sister M. Janet Ebben, O.S.F. Springfield, IL; Genevieve Ebben, Appleton; Margaret and Raymond Heindl, Kaukauna; Dorothy Sylvester Wavrunek, Luxemburg; Ervin Deprez, Phoneix, Az.

    He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ebben; a brother, Richard Ebben; two sisters and a brother in-law; Frances Deprez and Clara (Walter) Roepcke.

    BOY SUCCUMBS AFTER ACCIDENT

    Donald Ebben, 8, Died This Morning; Hit by Car Monday

    Donald Ebben, 9, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Ebben, route 2, Kaukauna, died about 4 o'clock this morning at St. Elizabeth hospital of injuries received when he was sturck by a car driven by George H. Stannard, 47, Green Bay, on Highway 41, three miles from the Brown County line Monday afternoon.

    Stannard told Sheriff Lymann B. Clark that the boy, who was playing with three of four other children in the ditch did not see his car approach because the boy was watching another car coming from the west. It was the sixtgh fatality from auto accidents in Outagamie County since January 1.

    In addition to his parents, Donald is survived by one brother, Gerald, and two sisters, Dolores and Lois Ann, at home; and there grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Ebben, Kaukauna, and William Heindl, Kaukauna.

    Funeral services will be held at 8 o'clock Friday morning at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown, with the Rev. August Broekman in Charge. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 7 o'clock tonight. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight and Thursday night.
