    Vosters, Dorothy
    Dorothy Vosters, age 82, of Appleton, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, three days before her 83rd birthday, at Parkside Care Center. Dorothy was born July 27, 1925, to the late Martin and Mary (Blaser) Baeten, in Wrightstown. She is the last of six brothers and sisters, who include her twin brother Donald Baeten. She married her beloved husband, Donald B. Vosters, on August 10, 1946, sharing 57 wonderful years together before his death on October 20, 2003. Dorothy was a schoolteacher for 42 years. She taught at St. Mary Catholic Central and St. Joseph Catholic School, Appleton. Dorothy enjoyed decorating her classroom with butterflies, ribbons and bows. Her favorite color was pink. She enjoyed teaching and Friday night fish fries and playing cards with friends.
    She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Thomas Bauer, Little Chute; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kathleen Vosters, Little Chute; four grandchildren: Brad Bauer, Blake (Geri) Bauer, Bethanie Vosters and Rebecca Vosters; five great-grandchildren: Blake, McKenzie, Noah, Brooklyn and Macey; a sister-in-law, Betty Baeten, De Pere; a brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Pat Vosters; a brother-in-law, Tom Pauly, both of Appleton; many nieces and nephews; also special friends, Christy Rettler, Barb Bosch and Sis Balliet.
    She was preceded in death by sisters: Margaret Baeten, Florence Baeten and Irene (Baeten) Lamers; brothers: Willard Baeten and Donald Baeten, mother and father-in-law, Barney and Alma (Holtz) Vosters; sister-in-law, Betty Rae (Vosters) Pauly; niece, Vicky Lamers; godson, Teddy Lamers; and special friends, Howard and Delores Fullarton.
    Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. Tuesday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.

    Mrs. Jennie Verhoven, 78, died unexpectedly about 7:30 last night at the home of her son, William Van Asten, Rt. 2, Kaukauna. She was born at Little Chute December 15, 1859, and lived in that vicinity all her life. She was married to Martin Van Asten and in 1902 to Antone Verhoven. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and St. Terese Society of St. Nicholas Church, Freedom.

    Survivors are three daughters; Mrs. Anna Schommer, Freedom; Mrs. George Gerrits, Oneida; and Mrs. Henry Biese, Wrightstown; three sons, Henry, Martin and William, all of Freedom; 34 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Nicholas Church, Freedom, with the Rev. A. W. VanDyke in charge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be said each evening at the residence where the body will be until the time of the funeral.

    Saturday, April 25, 1936

    Mrs. Herman Janssen, 68, 314 Depot St., Kaukauna, died at 5 o'clock this morning at Appleton following a major operation. Mrs. Janssen has been ailing for several months and submitted to an operation a week age. She was born in Little Chute in 1868 amd came to Kaukauna following her marriage. Mrs. was a resident of Kaukauna for the last 40 years.

    Surviving are the widower, one daughter, Mrs. Anton Van Gompel, Little Chute; two sons, John, Kaukauna; and Martin, Racine; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Kilsdonk, Little Chute; and Mrs. G. Van Asten, Freedom; and ten grandchildren.

    The body will be at the home of the son, John, at 1102 Harrison St., Kaukauna from this evening until 9o'clock Tuesday morning when the Rev. A. Garthaus will conduct funeral services at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

    Mrs. Matthew Verkuilen Dies at Little Chute
    Mrs. Matthew Verkuilen, 53, died Tuesday morning at her home here after a lingering illiness.

    Survivors are the widower, five sons, Anton, Harvey, Alvin, Little Chute; Leon, Kaukauna; Louis, Appleton; three daughters. Mrs. Oscar Onkles, Misses Blanche and Dolores, Little Chute.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Friday morning at St. John Church by the Rev. John J. Sprangers and burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
